Episode 6 Group 3

It was crazy, but there really was no other option at this point.  Dwight knew Jacob was thinking it too as soon as Matt found the dynamite.  They’d have to make it back to the tunnel they came from and seal it behind them, trapping the spider beasts inside.
Easier said than done, Dwight gulped.
“Get ready to light that dynamite stick,” Jacob told Matt.
    “What?” Matt was perplexed.
“We can trap them in here if we blow that tunnel.”
“I don't want to be trapped in here with them!” Jane said.
“We’ll have to run fast…” Jacob said.
There wasn't much time to argue, and no one had a better idea, so it was decided.  Before the falling spiders from the ceiling got any closer, all of them broke into a run for the tunnel once more.  With enough adrenaline, Dwight leaped over an entire spider, like hurtles at a track meet.  The spiders were still everywhere.  Some of the grounded spiders lifted their front legs and hissed, ready to attack.
Jane was loosing it.  She was approached by a hostile spider, legs up and pincers twitching.  It made her stop a couple times.  Not good, Dwight thought.
“Jane, run!” Dwight called to her.
Matt was throwing fists like a mad man, punching out spiders that got close to him.  He was getting closer to the tunnel, which meant they needed to blow it up soon.  Both Jacob and Jane were getting attacked left and right by the hairy creatures, making them slow down.
Matt was frantic and he lit the flare, starting the light for the dynamite.  There was no time left.  Dwight ran past him, making it safely.  Matt planted the dynamite and hurried away from it down the tunnel.
    “Hurry!” Dwight shouted.
Kord, Jacob, and Jane were still scrambling to get through the ocean of spider legs.  Jacob was tangled between a few spiders reaching to pinch him, but he roared, arms over his face, and plowed through the remaining crawlers.
    Jane was bitten
Her arm was trapped in the jaws of one of the spiders.  A sticky mesh was escaping the rear of its fuzzy back and starting to weave itself around Jane’s legs.  She wailed in pain, and her own blood drenched her jacket sleeve.
Kord threw himself against the spider.  Luckily, the pincers didn't rip her arm off, but the web dragged her body along with the tumbling spider.  Kord grabbed her other arm and lifted her off the ground.
    “Go!” Kord pushed Jane forward.
Her arm looked terrible.  She had a navy jacket, but the one sleeve looked like she dunked it in water and cherry jello.  Dwight could tell it hurt something awful by the intense look in her eyes.  She’d gotten away thanks to Kord, but they were both running out of time.  The fuse wasn't very long on the dynamite to begin with.
“Hurry!” Dwight shouted again, “Come on!”
They had to make it by themselves now.  There wasn't time for Dwight or Matt or anyone to run back through and get them.  Some spiders that pursued Jacob were already trying to reach the tunnel.
A husky spider dove onto Kord’s back and with a thud the air was knocked out of him.  His face was smashed into the ground, his nose now bloody, and the spider was preparing to sink its pincers into his neck.
With his elbows, Kord thrashed against the monster and rolled out from under it’s eight legs.  What happened next felt like a split second in time.
Jane barely made it through, clutching her bitten arm, tears rolling down her face.  Jacob grabbed her and they flew to the ground covering the back of their heads as much as they could.  The dynamite blew.  The sound broke Dwight’s ears, and tossed both him and Matt backwards.  Rocks fell.  Smoke and dust engulfed the tunnel.

Kord’s silhouette through the thick dust was being crushed relentlessly by the debris.
